Syrians protest against Kurdish siege in Hasakah province

DAMASCUS, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Crowds of people held a protest on Wednesday against the Kurdish militia siege of government-controlled zones in Syria's northeastern province of Hasakah, state news agency SANA reported.
The people protested against the siege imposed by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Kurdish security force, Assayish, which led to preventing the entry of food and other necessities to government areas in Hasakah.
The students have also been denied access to their schools as a result of the siege that has been in place for two weeks.
Citing its reporter in Hasakah, SANA said that the SDF opened fire to disperse the protesters with no reports on injuries yet.
The SDF controls large swathes of Hasakah while the Syrian government controls a few areas in Hasakah, including the airport of the city of Qamishli.
Recently, tension started brewing between both sides as the Syrian government has slammed in a statement the SDF due to their policies and the support they get from the U.S.. Enditem
