NUR-SULTAN, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan kicked off a general national population census on Wednesday, the press service of the Office for National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reform announced.
This is the third nationwide census conducted since Kazakhstan's independence. For the first time, digital technologies will be applied. People could complete the census online before Oct. 15, or answer the questions offline from Oct. 1 to 30.
The national census had been scheduled for October 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan, the country's population reached 19 million on July 1 this year, up 1.3 percent year on year. Enditem
