ATHENS, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed, 21 rescued and three missing after a boat carrying refugees and migrants from Turkey to Greece sank off the coasts of Chios island in the northern Aegean Sea, Greek national news agency AMNA reported Tuesday.
Details about the incident, including the nationalities of the survivors and the missing, were still unclear, said the report citing Hellenic Coast Guard sources.
A rescue operation was underway, despite winds of up to 5 on the Beaufort scale blowing in the area, AMNA reported. Enditem
