LONDON, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.61 percent, or 44.25 points, to close at 7,341.66 points.
Dechra Pharmaceuticals, a British-based business involving the development and marketing of veterinary products, soared 4.47 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Rolls-Royce Holdings and InterContinental Hotels Group increased by 3.30 percent and 2.70 percent, respectively.
Rentokil Initial, a business services company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.56 percent. Pershing Square Holdings, a hedge fund management company, dropped 1.50 percent. Rio Tinto, a mining and metals company, fell 0.99 percent. Enditem
