Singapore reports 3,775 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 3,775 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total tally to 1,266,808.

Of the new cases, 358 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 3,417 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 343 were local transmissions and 15 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 3,276 local transmissions and 141 imported cases.

A total of 276 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with seven cases in intensive care units.

No more deaths were reported from COVID-19 in the Southeast Asian country on Saturday, leaving the death toll unchanged at 1,374, according to the ministry. Enditem
