DUBAI, July 18 (Xinhua) -- President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a phone talk on Tuesday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral ties.
Sharif expressed thanks to the UAE president for his country's support in strengthening Pakistan's economy and sustainable development, reported the UAE's official news agency WAM.
The Pakistani leader also "praised the UAE's longstanding approach of extending assistance to Pakistan and its people," while expressing his pride in the historic relations between the two countries.
For his part, Sheikh Mohamed "conveyed his best wishes for the continued stability and prosperity of Pakistan and its people, and that they may achieve their development goals," the WAM report said.
The UAE leader also stressed the keenness to strengthen the UAE-Pakistan ties and constructive cooperation for the benefit of both sides, the report added. Enditem
