KHARTOUM -- Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council and General Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on Tuesday received a proposed initiative by a Sudanese national group to stop the war and form an emergency government.

Al-Burhan received the initiative when he met in Port Sudan, the capital city of the Red Sea State in eastern Sudan, with a delegation of the National Mechanism for Supporting Civil Democratic Transition in Sudan, a political group established in 2021 and led by former member of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council Aisha Musa, the sovereign council said in a statement. ANKARA -- Türkiye's annual inflation rate rose to 61.53 percent in September, climbing for a third straight month since it started to slide from October last year, official data showed on Tuesday.

DAMASCUS -- Six non-Syrian, pro-Iran fighters were killed on Monday night in an Israeli missile attack on military sites in Syria's eastern province of Deir al-Zour near the Syrian-Iraqi border, a war monitor reported on Tuesday.

The latest strikes hit positions of the pro-Iran militias in the city of al-Bukamal in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour, including a conduit for supplies coming to the militias from Iran via Iraq, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. BAGHDAD -- Iraqi authorities said that more than 1,000 children of the Islamic State (IS) militants have been sent to their home countries.
