BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Belgrano showed their title credentials on Tuesday by recovering from a goal down to clinch a 4-3 home victory over Boca Juniors in Argentina's Primera Division.

Lucas Passerini put the hosts ahead in the third minute but Dario Benedetto and Miguel Merentiel handed the visitors the lead with half an hour gone.

Belgrano responded with three goals in little over 10 minutes through Passerini, Juan Barinaga and Esteban Rolon.

Both teams lowered their intensity in the second half following a pulsating opening 45 minutes.

Merentiel gave his side a glimmer of hope with a 57th-minute strike but Belgrano held on to secure their third win of the campaign.

The Cordoba-based team leads Group B with 14 points, one point ahead of second-placed Central Cordoba. Boca, meanwhile, are 11th in the 14-team group as they focus on the Copa Libertadores final against Fluminense at the Maracana stadium on Nov. 4. Enditem
