Las Palmas coach Pimienta signs new contract until 2025

MADRID, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Las Palmas has extended the contract of coach Garcia Pimienta until the end of June 2025, the La Liga club has confirmed.
The new contact is a reward for Pimienta who led the club back to the Spanish top-flight and a positive start to life in the elite, with Las Palmas currently 10th in the classification with 11 points from their first nine games.
The coach arrived at the Canary Island-based club in January 2022 when they were in the second division, and he led them to the play-offs for promotion, only to see them lose to local rivals Tenerife.
However, his second campaign saw Las Palmas win promotion directly, by finishing second in the table behind Granada, with the team winning 32 of the 73 games since he took over, with 26 draws and just 15 defeats. Enditem
