BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Colombian striker Miguel Borja scored twice as River Plate cruised to a 3-0 home win over Independiente on Wednesday to supplant their rivals at the top of Argentina's Primera Division Group A standings.
Borja netted either side of halftime before Pablo Solari added a third goal in the 84th minute at Estadio Monumental.
The result leaves River Plate with 20 points from 10 games, two points clear of second-placed Independiente.
Meanwhile, a late Mateo Sanabria goal cancelled out Facundo Lencioni's 46th-minute strike as Belgrano were held to a 1-1 draw with Central Cordoba.
Despite the result, Belgrano remain top of the Group B standings with 18 points from 10 outings. Central Cordoba are fourth, three points further back.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Wednesday, Arsenal Sarandi won 1-0 at home to Colon and Atletico Tucuman edged to a 1-0 home victory over Talleres Cordoba. Enditem
