KUALA LUMPUR -- The recent opening of a 30-day visa-free facility for Chinese nationals is expected to see Malaysia receive an uptick in inbound Chinese tourists, the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) said on Friday.

China is a lucrative market and a significant contributor to Malaysia's tourism receipts and arrivals, the association said in a statement. (Malaysia-China-Tourism)

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's famed Angkor Archaeological Park registered 699,996 foreign visitors during the first 11 months of 2023, up 211 percent from 225,191 over the same period last year, said a news release on Friday.

MANILA -- The Philippines has started searching for a missing aircraft with two people on board, including the pilot, in the northern Isabela province, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said Friday.

The single-engine light aircraft with fixed landing gear took off at 9:39 a.m. local time on Thursday at the Cauayan City airport, heading for Palanan, a coastal town east of the city. NEW DELHI -- Dozens of schools in the southern Indian city of Bengaluru Friday received bomb threats, prompting school administrations to evacuate students and call police, officials said.
