HOUSTON -- At least six people have been killed and 23 others injured as a result of severe storms in the U.S. state of Tennessee, authorities said Saturday.
Two adults and one child were killed in Montgomery County which was hit by a tornado Saturday afternoon, while three more deaths were reported in the suburbs of Nashville, the capital of Tennessee. (Storm-US-Death)

CANBERRA -- Foreign investors in the Australian housing market will be hit with higher taxes under a government plan to address housing affordability.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Minister for Housing Julie Collins on Sunday announced new rules tripling the foreign investment fees for the purchase of established homes in Australia and doubling vacancy fees for all foreign-owned dwellings purchased since May 2017. UNITED NATIONS -- The UN peacekeeping mission in Mali has completed its withdrawal from the country's central regions, said the press office of the UN Secretariat.
The mission, known by its French acronym MINUSMA, closed its camp in Sevare in Mopti region on Friday, marking the end of its presence in central Mali, it said. (UN-Mali-Peacekeepers)

BERLIN -- Three people were injured Saturday night when an apartment building was hit by a fire and a subsequent explosion in the western German city of Essen.
