ADEN, Yemen -- The Houthi rebel group in Yemen has vowed strong retaliation against the United States and Britain for airstrikes carried out earlier on Friday in areas under their control.
According to a statement from Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea, the American and British forces launched a "brutal aggression," with 73 raids targeting the Yemeni capital Sanaa as well as the provinces of Hodeidah, Taiz, Hajjah and Saada.
The spokesman said the raids have resulted in the deaths of five people, with at least six being injured. (Yemen-U.S.-Airstrikes)

TOKYO -- The death toll rose to 215 in the central Japanese prefecture of Ishikawa on Friday, after a series of strong quakes of up to 7.6 magnitude jolted the prefecture and its vicinity, local media reported.
The number of people remained unaccounted for dropped to 28 in the hardest-hit prefecture as of 2:00 p.m. local time, while at least 577 people suffered injuries due to the quakes, public broadcaster NHK said. (Japan-Quake-Death Toll)

THE HAGUE -- The International Court of Justice (ICJ) concluded on Friday its two-day public hearings here on South Africa's genocide case against Israel and demand for the court's urgent intervention to stop Israel's military operation in Gaza.
On Thursday, during the hearing held at the Peace Palace, the seat of the ICJ in The Hague, the South African side accused Israel of the "deliberate" and "systemic" genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip by citing reports and data from the United Nations and other international agencies, and representing video evidence.
