TOKYO, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Fifteen people were sent to hospital on Wednesday after suffering minor injuries in a vehicle accident in Japan's Niigata Prefecture, local media reported.

A total of three vehicles, including a Niigata Kotsu express bus and a large truck, had an accident at around 8:30 a.m. local time on the Kanetsu Expressway inbound line in Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture, Kyodo News reported.

According to the local fire department, a total of 15 people, including the bus passengers and the truck driver, were transported to the hospital. All injuries were said to be minor.

Prefectural police believe the bus was rear-ended and are investigating the details of the accident, the report said.

According to Niigata Kotsu, there were 19 passengers and one driver on board of the bus, and the driver said he had been rear-ended by the truck. Enditem
