SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- A small fishing boat sank off South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju, leaving two of the three crew members missing, Yonhap news agency said Sunday citing the coast guard.
The Jeju maritime traffic control center received a call at around 9:52 p.m. local time Saturday (1252 GMT) that the 4.11-ton fishing boat was being inundated in waters some 18.5 km south of the island.
The vessel was believed to have sunken as the hull was not visible when the coast guard arrived at the scene.
On board the ill-fated vessel were one South Korean captain and two Indonesian sailors, one of whom was rescued by a nearby fishing boat while drifting at sea.
The rescued sailor was taken to a hospital for treatment as he suffered hypothermia.
The coast guard mobilized 10 patrol boats and rescue teams in cooperation with the navy and civilian fishing boats, but no other crew member was rescued.
It planned to continue its search and rescue operation. Enditem
