Defending champion Zhu Lin wins Chinese derby to reach Hua Hin final

BANGKOK, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's Zhu Lin defeated compatriot Wang Yafan with two straight sets at the WTA 250 Thailand Open at Hua Hin on Saturday and will meet Diana Shnaider in the final.

No. 2 seed Zhu is also the defending champion. While Wang had an eye-catching performance at the Australian Open and advanced to the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time. Zhu beat Wang 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinal and moved into the final at Hua Hin.

In the other semifinal, Shnaider reached her second tour-level final following Ningbo 2023 by defeating No. 3 seed Wang Xinyu 6-2, 7-6.

In the doubles semifinals, Chinese pair Guo Hanyu and Jiang Xinyu saved a match point in a tiebreak to narrowly defeat Kamilla Rakhimova and Yana Sizikova 6-2, 4-6, 11-9. Guo and Jiang will now face top seeds Miyu Kato and Aldila Sutjiadi in the final. Enditem
