MANILA -- Two people died after a fire gutted a crowded residential community in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, the city's disaster risk reduction and management office said Saturday.
The Bureau of Fire Protection said the victims, a woman and her son, were trapped when flame engulfed their home and 20 other houses in the neighborhood on Friday night. (Philippines-Fire-Death)

SINGAPORE -- Singapore's Civil Defense Force said on Saturday that one was killed in a building fire at Block 131C, Canberra Crescent.

ULAN BATOR -- The number of livestock deaths caused by the extreme weather has exceeded 2 million so far this winter in Mongolia, the country's State Emergency Commission (SEC) said Saturday.
