MEXICO CITY, March 1 (Xinhua) -- San Luis ended a run of seven games without victory by romping to a 4-0 home win over Puebla in Mexico's Liga MX on Friday.
Brazilian winger Vitinho gave the host the lead with a low finish just after the half hour, and French midfielder Sebastien Salles-Lamonge doubled the advantage by firing home following Javier Guemez's assist on the stroke of halftime.
The host was in irresistible form and Benjamin Galdames made it 3-0 on the hour as he combined with Franck Boli before rifling into the far corner.
Yan Phillipe completed the rout in the second minute of stoppage time by latching onto Jonantan Villal's pass and sweeping home a first-time effort from the edge of the 18-yard box.
It was the first time that San Luis has won in Mexico's top flight since January 19 and maintains the team's hopes of a playoff berth. Puebla is 17th in the 18-team standings, having suffered four consecutive losses.
In other fixtures on Friday, Mazatlan won 2-1 at home to Necaxa, and Santos Laguna prevailed 1-0 at Queretaro. Enditem
