JERUSALEM -- A combined attack of dozens of ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones from Iran triggered air raid alerts across Israel early on Sunday, the Israeli army said, as residents reported multiple bombings were heard.

CAIRO -- Egypt's air defense systems were placed on high alert following Iran's announcement of launching retaliatory attacks on Israel, a senior Egyptian security official told the Al-Qahera News TV on Saturday.

BEIRUT -- Lebanon announced on Saturday night the closure of the Lebanese airspace to aviation due to the Iranian drone attack on Israel.
"The Lebanese airspace has been closed to all aircraft arriving, departing, and crossing Lebanese airspace, temporarily and as a precaution, as of 1 a.m. on Sunday (2200 GMT Saturday) until 7 a.m.," the Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh said. (Lebanon-Airspace)

BAGHDAD -- Iraq suspended all civilian flights within its airspace on Saturday, as a precaution to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation amid regional tensions, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority said on Saturday.
The closure became effective from 11:30 pm local time (2030 GMT) on Saturday to 05:30 a.m. local time (0230 GMT) on Sunday, the authority said, indicating that this suspension might be prolonged if necessary. (Iraq-Airspace-Closure) Enditem
