SEOUL -- South Korea's state power utility company Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) logged an operating profit for the third successive quarter due to higher electricity charges and lower fuel costs, the KEPCO said Friday.

Consolidated operating profit came to 1.3 trillion won (951 million U.S. dollars) in the January-March quarter, turning around from an operating loss of 6.18 trillion won (4.5 billion dollars) in the same quarter of last year. (South Korea-State Power Utility-Earning)

VIENTIANE -- Lao authorities are seeking solutions to tackle the labor shortage, which has affected business operations across Laos.

Officials from the Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, Lao Federation of Trade Unions, and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday discussed ways to address the labor shortage and a cooperation plan to solve the problem in the future, Lao National Radio reported on Friday. YANGON -- Myanmar has set a target of earning over 800 million U.S. dollars from the export of fishery products in the 2024-25 fiscal year, an official from the Department of Fisheries told Xinhua on Friday.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia exported products worth 8 billion U.S. dollars in the first four months of 2024, up 15.2 percent from 6.94 billion dollars over the same period last year, said a General Department of Customs and Excise's report released on Friday.
