SINGAPORE, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean police arrested 290 suspects for scam offenses from May 10 to May 23, according to the latest statement from police.
The suspects were involved in over 1,000 cases, including job scams, investment scams, phishing scams, e-commerce scams, internet love scams, and government official impersonation scams.
Police said the victims lost over 5 million Singapore dollars (3.7 million U.S. dollars).
The suspects were under investigation for cheating, money laundering, or providing payment services without a license. Enditem
