COLOMBO, May 26 (Xinhua) -- One died while 13 others were injured when a van carrying a group of pilgrims veered off the road in Kurunegala District, North Western province of Sri Lanka, on Sunday morning, the police said.

The police suspect that the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.

A 69-year-old man died and 13 others who sustained injuries have been admitted to regional hospitals for treatment, the police said, adding that the injuries of seven were serious. Enditem
