MAPUTO, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The Defense and Security Forces (FDS) of Mozambique and Rwandan troops successfully neutralized dozens of terrorists in Mozambique's northern province of Cabo Delgado on Wednesday morning, Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi said.

"The local forces, together with the Rwandan forces, engaged directly with the terrorists and neutralized several of them," Nyusi said at the inauguration of a wastewater treatment plant in Maputo. "Dozens of terrorists were left on the ground, and equipment was captured."

As the operation continued, Nyusi said that the terrorists were fleeing, and the FDS troops were motivated to persist in their fight against terrorism. However, he did not specify the number of casualties.

This is the second military operation against terrorists in Cabo Delgado that Nyusi has announced within a month. Enditem
