BUCHAREST, June 4 (Xinhua) -- The 14th edition of the AROBS X-MAN Romania event is to take place on June 8 in Oradea, in the country's northwest, attracting around 600 triathletes and runners from 14 countries.
The event features three key competitions: the Full Ironman triathlon, the Half Ironman triathlon, and the Olympic triathlon.
The highlight of the event, the national long-distance triathlon championship, is Romania's only Full Ironman competition, with athletes having to swim 3,800m, cycle 180km and run 41.5km.
"The difficulty of the endurance competition is not only given by the distances but also by the fact that they are covered consecutively, without stopping, demanding the athletes to their maximum, both physically and mentally," said competition director Istvan Szokolszky.
Starting with the 2023 edition, the age categories for the middle and standard distance will be awarded in five-year segments, and in the long event in 10-year segments. Enditem
