ISLAMABAD, June 8 (Xinhua) -- One man was killed and six others were wounded in an explosion in a chemical tanker in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Saturday, police said.

The explosion happened when some welding work was underway in the parked tanker, the local police told media.

The windows of nearby buildings shattered due to the impact of the explosion, and another tanker parked nearby was also partially damaged in the incident.

The deceased and the injured had been shifted to a nearby hospital. Enditem
