COLOMBO -- The Sri Lankan navy arrested six suspects and confiscated a multi-day fishing trawler with over 150 kg of narcotics, the navy said in a statement on Friday.

SYDNEY -- The French overseas territory of New Caledonia's main airport, La Tontouta International Airport, will reopen during the day from Monday to June 17, said the French High Commission in New Caledonia.

ULAN BATOR -- A member of Mongolia's Democratic Party was killed amid the ongoing campaign for the country's regular parliamentary elections, the country's National Police Agency (NPA) announced on Sunday.

BAMIYAN, Afghanistan -- An outdoor class aimed at promoting cultural relics protection for Afghan primary school students kicked off Sunday in central Afghanistan's Bamiyan province.

The class was organized by a six-member team made of Chinese archaeologists and cultural heritage experts, along with Afghan experts and officials, respectively at the giant Buddhas site and Shahr-e Gholghola, both part of the UNESCO-listed world heritage in the Bamiyan Valley. (Afghanistan-Class)

HONG KONG -- The first high-speed sleeper train from Hong Kong to Beijing departed from Hong Kong's West Kowloon Station on Saturday evening.

The new train service runs between Hong Kong's West Kowloon Station and Beijing West Railway Station every Friday to Monday. The time it takes to travel between Beijing and Hong Kong will be reduced to about 12.5 hours from 24.5 hours. (Hong Kong-Beijing-Train) Enditem
