YANGON, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 500,000 stimulant tablets in eastern Myanmar's Shan state, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police intercepted a vehicle in Nawnghkio township on Friday, with two suspects arrested and the drugs seized.

Further investigation resulted in the arrest of another suspect who had ordered the transport of the drugs in Kyaikmaraw township, Mon state, on Saturday.

The seized drugs are valued at 250 million kyats (about 119,047 U.S. dollars). All suspects connected to the case have been charged under Myanmar's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations are ongoing, according to the CCDAC. Enditem
