NEW DELHI, June 28 (Xinhua) -- At least three persons were feared dead after a wall in a house under construction collapsed on them amid heavy rains in south Delhi on Friday, confirmed an eyewitness to Xinhua over phone.

All the deceased were labors working at the construction site. Rescue work was on to rescue those trapped.

"Amid heavy rains this morning, a tree fell on the temporary hutment in which the laborers were living. As a result, the wall along with the structure collapsed on the sleeping laborers, thus trapping them under the debris," said the eyewitness.

According to him, the foundation of the under-construction house was filled with at least 10 feet of water.

"Efforts are being made to pump out the water and rescue those trapped," said the eyewitness. Enditem
