YANGON, June 28 (Xinhua) -- A collective blood donation event organized by the Myanmar Women's Affairs Federation (Mandalay) was held at the Central Women's Hospital in Mandalay on Thursday to mark Myanmar Women's Day, which falls on July 3, the state-run media Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) reported on Friday.
The event aimed to address the blood needs of patients requiring transfusions and emergency care at the Central Women's Hospital, citing a secretary of the Myanmar Women's Affairs Federation (Mandalay). Over 50 people donated blood at the event.
As part of the pre-activities for Myanmar Women's Day, the blood donation was organized under the theme of women's life safety and development, the secretary of the federation said.
In preparation for Myanmar Women's Day, the federation also conducted tree planting activities and an awareness program of human trafficking, the secretary said. Enditem
