NEW DELHI -- The death toll in Tuesday's stampede in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh rose to 116, out of which 88 victims' bodies were lying at a local trauma center, 27 at Etah Hospital and one at a hospital in the Hathras town, confirmed a local administration official to Xinhua over phone.

The death toll was feared to rise further as many injured persons were admitted at various hospitals, out of whom some were said to be in critical conditions. (India-Stampede-Deaths)

TBILISI -- A warplane on Monday crashed in southern Georgia, killing one pilot on board, the Defense Ministry of Georgia said in a statement.

According to the statement, the Su-25 warplane crashed near the military airport of the town of Bolnisi in southern Georgia during "routine training" on Monday. (Georgia-Warplane-Crash)

GAZA -- At least 14 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday by Israeli attacks targeting several areas in the Gaza Strip, said Palestinian sources.

Security and medical sources told Xinhua that eight people were killed and more than 30 others were injured with varying injuries as a result of Israeli missile and artillery shelling that targeted various areas of the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah. (Gaza-Palestinians-Israel)

ISLAMABAD -- A security person was killed and four others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred when roadside-planted explosives hit a vehicle of the security forces in Kalat district of the province, police sources in the area told Xinhua.

The forces' vehicle was on a routine patrol in the area when the explosion happened, said the police sources. (Pakistan-Balochistan-Blast) Enditem
