PHNOM PENH, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian police have arrested a Nigerian man for allegedly trafficking nearly 10 kg of narcotics, the National Police reported on Thursday.

The suspect, identified as Madu Daniel Sopuru, 29, was apprehended at Monday midnight in Svay Rieng province when he was smuggling the illicit drugs.

"A total of 9.82 kg of heroin and crystal methamphetamine was confiscated from the suspect's possession during the raid," the National Police said on its website. "The suspect has been sent to the Svay Rieng Provincial Court for prosecution."
