PARIS -- French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced Sunday night to submit his resignation to French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, following the defeat of Macron's centrist coalition in the legislative elections.

"This evening, the political group that I represented in this campaign, has achieved three times more than the seats predicted in the past weeks, but does not have a majority," Attal said in a televised speech. (France-PM-Resignation)

BAGHDAD -- Five people were killed and six others wounded on Sunday in two car accidents north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, a police source said.

In one accident, four people were killed when their car overturned on the main road between Baghdad and the northern city of Kirkuk as a result of inattentive and speed driving, Major Alaa al-Saadi told Xinhua. (Iraq-Car Accidents-Fatalities)

NEW DELHI -- Two Indian army troopers and six militants were killed in two separate gunfights in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said Sunday.

GAZA -- At least 10 Palestinians were killed and dozens of others wounded on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on a school housing displaced people in Gaza City, said Palestinian sources.
