NEW YORK -- Multiple U.S. airlines said their flights were delayed or canceled on Friday due to technical issues involving cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike and Microsoft.

UNITED NATIONS -- At least 40 migrants have died and several others were injured after a boat they were travelling in caught fire off northern Haiti, a UN spokesman said on Friday, quoting the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

"Two days ago, according to the Haitian National Office for Migration, the boat, carrying over 80 people, departed from Labadee en route to the Turks and Caicos Islands, a 250-kilometer journey," said Farhan Haq, the deputy spokesman for UN Secretary-Genral Antonio Guterres, at a daily briefing. SANTIAGO -- A 7.3-magnitude earthquake left at least one person dead and a bridge with a fracture in northern Chile on Thursday night, the National Service for Disaster Prevention and Response said Friday.

The tremor, which could be felt in several regions, occurred some 20 kilometers south of the town of San Pedro de Atacama at 9:50 p.m. local time on Thursday. (Chile-Earthquake)

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi warplanes conducted an airstrike on Friday morning in northern Iraq, killing three Islamic State (IS) militants in a mountainous area between Kirkuk and Saladin provinces, the military said.

The Security Media Cell (SMC), a media outlet affiliated with the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, said in a statement that the airstrike targeted the militants at 5:00 a.m. local time (0200 GMT) based on intelligence reports. (Iraq-Islamic State-Airstrike) Enditem
