TEHRAN, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The navy of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) received 2,654 domestically-developed military gears on Friday, including missile and drone systems, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

The delivery of the equipment took place in a ceremony attended by IRGC Chief Commander Hossein Salami and several other Iranian military leaders, the report said.

According to Fars, among the delivered items were cruise missiles with new features, such as radar evasion capabilities and highly-explosive warheads designed to inflict severe damage and potentially sink destroyers.

The report listed some of the military gears as long- and medium-range missile systems, combat, reconnaissance and kamikaze drones, electronic warfare systems, naval radars and other weapons.

Speaking at the ceremony, Salami emphasized the necessity of military strength for survival in today's world, according to the report.

Salami stressed the need of being capable of engaging with enemies at sea from "zero distance to great depths."

IRGC Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri said the new systems and equipment offer enhanced precision in targeting, with artificial intelligence technology integrated into their development. Enditem
