NEW DELHI -- Two Indian army troopers and a civilian were killed and two others wounded in an overnight fierce gunfight in Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said Sunday.

The gunfight broke out Saturday evening at Ahlan Gagarmandu forest in Kokernag of Anantnag district, 90 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (India-Gunfight-Deaths)

DHAKA -- Two more advisors of Bangladesh's new interim government took oath here on Sunday.

KABUL -- The Afghan caretaker government declared Asad 24 which coincides with Aug. 14 this year victory day against U.S.-led forces and announced the day as public holiday.

Wednesday Asad 24 (the fifth month of the year 1400 in Persian calendar and Aug. 14 this year) is the victory day of Afghans against the American invasion of Afghanistan and its allies and the third anniversary of their defeat, therefore the day is public holiday across the country, said the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on Sunday. SYDNEY -- Four men were arrested for allegedly being disruptive and obstructing police officers during a demonstration on Sunday in Brisbane, the capital city of Australia's State of Queensland, said local media.
