KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's car sales rose month on month and year on year in July, according to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) on Friday.
MAA said that Malaysia's total industry volume (TIV) for July was 24 percent higher than June at 71,730 units. Year on year comparison also showed TIV increased 11 percent.
As for January to July, TIV was 7 percent higher than the corresponding period in 2023 at 462,088 units. The growth was underpinned by longer working months and new model launches.
"Sales are expected to maintain their momentum in August, driven by National Day promotional campaigns by some car companies," MAA said.
Meanwhile, Malaysia's car production expanded 5 percent year on year to 70,295 units in July. From January to July, car production stood at 462,347 units, rising 8 percent year on year. Enditem
