LILONGWE, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- A small aircraft that was carrying 3 people crashed in Lake Malawi in Nkhotakota district, around 200 km northeast of Lilongwe, the Malawian capital, late Tuesday afternoon, according to local media reports.

One woman reportedly survived, and she has been rushed to hospital. Local fishermen are trying to rescue the other two people reportedly stuck in the plane.

The Malawi police are yet to comment on the accident. Enditem
