KIEV -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region, which borders Russia, the presidential press service said Thursday.

During his trip, Zelensky visited the Sumy border area and held a meeting with the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky and Sumy regional governor Volodymyr Artyukh. (Ukraine-Sumy)

UNITED NATIONS -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has declared his intention and the intention of the Palestinian leadership to head to Gaza, and called for leaders from around the globe to join him and to support this initiative, a Palestinian envoy said on Thursday.

SANAA -- Yemen's armed Houthi group on Thursday claimed responsibility for launching attacks against two ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

"In support of Palestinians in Gaza and in response to American-British aggression against our country, we carried out two military operations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden," Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a statement aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. BELGRADE -- The bodies of ten migrants were recovered after their boat capsized on the Drina River, according to Serbia's Interior Ministry and local media reports on Thursday.

The incident occured late Wednesday night when around 30 migrants were taking a boat crossing from Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina. 18 people survived the incident, of whom 10 are minors, Serbian police confirmed. (Serbia-migrants) Enditem
