BRATISLAVA, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Slovakia is set to purchase six mobile air-defense systems from Israel, at an estimated price of over 554 million euros, local media reported on Wednesday.

The Slovak government approved the deal on Wednesday, the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) said, adding that the Defense Ministry is expected to sign an intergovernmental agreement with the Israeli side by the end of October this year.

According to TASR, Israel's offer to Slovakia for SAM-M systems is the most advantageous from an economic and technical perspective.

Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kalinak said that the first batch of the air-defense systems should arrive in Slovakia in late 2025. The order will also include missiles and radars with extended range. Enditem
