JERUSALEM -- Israel announced on Friday that it had killed Hamas' commander in Jenin, the West Bank, on the third day of one of its largest assaults in the Israeli-occupied territory in months.

In a joint statement, the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet domestic security agency identified the commander as Wassem Hazem. BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi military said on Friday that 14 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed in a military operation in a desert in the western Iraqi province of Anbar.

CAIRO -- Three Arab Israeli tourists and four Egyptian workers were injured during a fight in a hotel in Egypt's Red Sea resort of Taba, Egypt's Al-Qahera News TV channel reported, citing a high-level Egyptian official.

RAMALLAH -- A polio vaccination campaign for children under 10 years old in the Gaza Strip will begin on Sunday, Palestine's Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan said on Friday.
