JERUSALEM -- Hundreds of thousands of Israelis rallied across the country on Sunday, demanding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu negotiate a ceasefire with Hamas to secure the return of hostages held in Gaza.

According to Israel's Ynet news site, around 700,000 people participated in demonstrations on main roads and at junctions nationwide, with 550,000 attending the central rally in Tel Aviv. GAZA -- A polio vaccination campaign started in the Gaza Strip on Sunday as over 2 million people in the Palestinian enclave are still grappling with a severe humanitarian crisis due to the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.

The campaign began in central Gaza, including the city of Deir al-Balah and the refugee camps of al-Nuseirat, al-Maghazi, and al-Bureij. TEHRAN -- Severe weather conditions, including thick fog, were primarily responsible for the helicopter crash in May that resulted in the death of Iran's late President Ebrahim Raisi, IRIB news agency reported on Sunday, citing a final investigation report.

The General Staff of Iran's Armed Forces released the report, stating that the technical, engineering, electronic, and navigation aspects of the helicopter were thoroughly examined. KHARTOUM -- Heavy rains and flooding in Sudan have claimed 173 lives and injured 505 people since the beginning of the rainy season in June, the Sudanese Health Ministry reported.
