BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni has expressed confidence that Julian Alvarez will soon rediscover his scoring form following his move to Atletico Madrid from Manchester City.

Alvarez, 24, has made an inauspicious start to his spell in Spain, having yet to score or provide an assist in his first four La Liga appearances.

"These are personal decisions," Scaloni told a news conference ahead of Argentina's double header of World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia.

"He left a great club to join another great club. We hope it goes well for him because if he does well, it benefits the national team. The decision is his, and we don't interfere."

Alvarez is not the only Albiceleste player to have changed clubs during the recently closed European summer transfer window. Nico Gonzalez moved to Juventus from Fiorentina while Gio Lo Celso returned to Real Betis after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.

"They're just getting used to their new clubs, getting to know their coach, and some haven't even played yet," Scaloni said. "That could affect us, but in two or three months, it will be a different story."

Argentina will play Chile in Buenos Aires on Thursday and Colombia in Barranquilla five days later.

The reigning World Cup and Copa America champions currently lead the 10-team South American qualifying zone with 15 points from six games. Enditem
