LIMA, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and 15 others injured early Thursday when a passenger bus crashed into a cargo truck in Peru's capital city of Lima, local daily La Republica reported.

The bus driver and one of the passengers were killed when the bus rear-ended a truck hauling corn in the southern Lima Region's Canete district, said the report.

Authorities are investigating to determine who was responsible, as speeding may have been a key factor in the crash.

The country's police and fire departments rushed to the scene to assist with the rescue efforts. Enditem
