NEW DELHI, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. multinational automobile manufacturer Ford Motor Co. on Friday said it has decided to restart vehicle manufacturing at its facility in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Ford has submitted a letter of intent to the Tamil Nadu government two days after the state's Chief Minister M K Stalin said that the two sides were in talks to restart manufacturing in Tamil Nadu for exports.

On Wednesday, Stalin visited Ford's headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, in the United States and urged its top management to restart production in his state.
