LIMA -- At least 15 people were killed in Peru due to the serious forest fires occurring in various parts of the country, Minister of Health Cesar Vasquez said Monday.

"We have reported so far unfortunately 15 deaths, six hospitalized, 128 discharged from hospital and we as the Ministry of Health will always be in an expectant attitude," the official told reporters.(Peru-Forest fires)

FREETOWN -- At least eight people were killed on Monday after a seven-story building collapsed in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) of Sierra Leone confirmed.

The NDMA said six survivors have been rescued from the rubble, while many people remain trapped beneath the debris.
