MAIDAN SHAR, Afghanistan -- Two children lost their lives as an unexploded device left over from wars went off in eastern Afghanistan's Wardak province on Monday, provincial police spokesman Mohammad Yusuf Esrar said Tuesday.

The deadly accident took place in Snaglakh village of Jalriz district on Monday when the children found and played with the toy-like device, said the officer. (Afghanistan-Blast-Children)

ISTANBUL -- Five people were detained in Türkiye's Istanbul on Tuesday in an operation targeting individuals who use social media to solicit and redirect donations to the Islamic State (IS) and al-Qaeda, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

According to Anadolu, the operation was conducted by the Istanbul police's anti-terror department to uncover terrorist activities and identify the financial sources of terrorist organizations. (Türkiye-IS-Suspects)

NEW DELHI -- At least five people, including two children, were killed and 11 others injured Tuesday in a firecracker factory in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The explosion took place late Monday night in the Naushera area of Shikohabad in Firozabad district, about 275 km west of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. (India-Explosion)

BEIRUT -- At least 1,000 Hezbollah members were wounded when the pagers they use to communicate exploded on Tuesday, MTV local channel reported, updating previous reports of dozens of injuries by other local media outlets.
