BEIRUT -- Eight people were killed, and over 2,800 others, including Hezbollah members, were wounded on Tuesday in different areas of Lebanon as their pagers exploded, said Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad.

CAIRO -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Tuesday urged the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing and the Philadelphi Corridor.

DAMASCUS -- Four Hezbollah fighters were injured on Tuesday after their communication devices exploded in Syria's capital Damascus, a war monitor reported.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the four fighters were injured as their communication devices exploded inside a vehicle near the Kafr Sousa neighborhood in Damascus, adding that two similar incidents took place in the Sayyida Zaynab area in the southern countryside of Damascus and an unknown area in the western Qalamoun region, respectively. TEHRAN -- Ten people were killed and 36 others injured after a bus overturned in the central Iranian province of Yazd early Tuesday, the official news agency IRNA reported.

The incident occurred at around 2:20 a.m. local time (2250 GMT Monday) on an intercity road near Saghand village in Ardakan County, as the bus veered off the main road, entered a mining access road, and overturned, Iran's Traffic Police Chief Hassan Momeni was quoted as saying.
