WARSAW -- Two more flood victims were found in Poland, raising the death toll to seven, Polish police said on Tuesday, according to the Polish Press Agency (PAP).

Senior Inspector Wioletta Martuszewska of the Klodzko County in Lower Silesian province told PAP that one victim was found in a car in Ladek-Zdroj, and the other in the riverbed in Stronie Slaskie. Authorities have confirmed their identities. (Poland-flood-death toll)

BEIRUT -- Eight people were killed, and over 2,800 others, including Hezbollah members, were wounded on Tuesday in different areas of Lebanon as their pagers exploded, said Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad.

TEHRAN -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will depart for New York on Sunday to attend and deliver a speech at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 79), the official news agency IRNA reported Tuesday.

His speech is scheduled for Sept. 24, the first day of the high-level General Debate, during which he will expound on the Iranian people's viewpoints, IRNA said. (Iran-President-UNGA)

ABUJA -- At least four bandits were killed and 20 hostages rescued by Nigerian troops during separate anti-terror raids in the northwestern state of Kaduna early Tuesday, local authorities said.

The troops combed thick bushes suspected to be the hideouts of some bandits in Birnin Gwari and Giwa local government area to carry out the "successful operations" on Tuesday, Samuel Aruwan, the commissioner for internal security and home affairs in Kaduna, told reporters. (Nigeria-bandit) Enditem
