BEIRUT -- The death toll from Tuesday's pager explosions in Lebanon has risen to 12, including two children, with 2,750-2,800 others injured, Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad announced Wednesday.

Of the total wounded, around 750 were reported in the south, 150 in the eastern Bekaa region, and 1,850 in the capital Beirut and its southern suburbs, Abiad said in a press conference, mentioning that about 300 injured are in critical condition. (Lebanon-Hezbollah-Explosions)

AMMAN -- Jordan's new Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan and members of his cabinet were sworn in on Wednesday before King Abdullah II, state-run Petra news agency reported.

BRUSSELS -- Google will not be required to pay the nearly 1.5 billion euro (1.67 billion U.S. dollars) fine imposed by the European Commission, according to a ruling by the European Union's General Court on Wednesday.

JOHANNESBURG -- South Africa's consumer price index (CPI) declined for the third consecutive month, easing to 4.4 percent in August from 4.6 percent in July, according to data released by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) on Wednesday.
