VIENTIANE, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have agreed to improve intellectual property management in Laos, enhancing document management, online services, and information searches.

The agreement was signed in Lao capital Vientiane on Wednesday between Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce Malaythong Kommasith, and WIPO Director General Daren Tang, Lao National Radio reported on Thursday.

The partnership aims to build the skills and knowledge of employees to enhance professionalism and quality in the development and management of intellectual property.

The Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce is said to work with WIPO and various countries to promote and link information in the implementation of intellectual property management.

WIPO will draw up guidelines on the infrastructure of information technology and recommend appropriate technology to meet the needs of the ministry. Enditem
